The topic of this article the
author states is how teens are using anonymous apps to cyber bully and things
parents should do to help prevent it their child from being a victim or bully. The
purpose that the writer is trying to convey is that students are using
anonymous apps to post demeaning and threatening content without the fear of
being caught, because no one will know who wrote it. The author also states
eight things that parents should do to stay involved with their child’s use of
social media sites. The author argues that children today are the same as
children in past generations but the difference is that bullying isn’t done in
person anymore its done over the internet and can have more effects. A negative
post about someone can reach hundreds of people in the matter of minutes, and
shatter a person’s self-esteem. This text would be useful for parents to see
what they can do to help prevent cyber bullying.
